YANDIN WIND FARM
A development approved wind farm in the Dandaragan region of Western Australia
The Yandin Wind Farm is a consented development of up to 94 turbines located approximately 4km south of the town of Dandaragan.
The location provides and excellent site for wind generation due to is wind resource, proximity to the grid and low housing density.
A successful wind farm development also benefits from a supportive local community. We hope to maintain support throughout the development of this project.
In November 2016 Alinta Energy acquired an interest in the Yandin Wind Farm.

Community & Benefits
Wind Prospect developments include the establishment of a Community Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to provide support for the local community to develop, maintain, and enhance facilities, amenities, projects and activities in the region. The Community Fund can be administered by local community representatives and is usually established around the time that the wind farm begins producing electricity.
Wind farm developments invariably bring other economic benefits to a regional community. These include opportunities for local contractors and suppliers of goods and services and the opportunity for local employment during construction and operation. Wind farm contractors will seek to engage labour and services from the local or regional area where the necessary skills and services are available.
