On 25 March 2002, Wind Prospect held a public exhibition open day for the proposed Troubridge Point Wind Farm at the Edithburgh Institute - of the 110 people who completed opinion surveys a total of 98% either approved of, or were not opposed to, the introduction of The Troubridge Point Wind Farm.  A year later Provisional Development Planning Consent was granted by the District Council of Yorke Peninsula.   

The Troubridge Wind Farm was purchased by Origin Energy in 2004.  The site will consist of up to 15 wind turbines located on zoned farming land, inland from the coastal track at Troubridge Point.
