Wind Turbine blades arrive at the 5MW Kinegar Quarry in the Scottish Borders


The blades for the Kinegar Quarry project arrived on site earlier this week as the Wind Prospect team work towards the 1st power generation taking place in March.

Kinegar Quarry is a consented site comprising of 2 turbines, 110 metres to tip, located on the eastern edge of Scottish Borders near Dunbar.

The Wind Prospect team lead by Pat Madden, Wind Prospect Group Contracts Manager, have been an instrumental part of this development over the past three years. Kinegar quarry is expected to take up to 10% of the projects electricity, with a community fund of £50,000 per annum, double the Scottish Government recommended rate of £5,000 per MW.
