AfricaNorth Africa is leading the continent in terms of functioning wind-power capacity. Meanwhile, South Africa has the potential to become a significant player and the gateway for renewable energy infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa. There are a number of large wind farms that are close to implementation in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia. Wind Prospect began working in Africa after the Feed-in-Tariff was announced by the South African government in March 2009. We are quickly establishing ourselves as a leading consultancy on wind energy in Africa through our growing relationships with local developers, project finance banks and government entities. Wind Prospect's Chanda Kapande article which explores the risks for investors of developing wind farms in Africa, reproduced with kind permission of Alternative Energy Africa. Given the early stage of the market in Africa, we expect to continue providing our range of Development services and due diligence services.
