Your Questions Answered!
Why do we need wind turbines?
With global climate change being so serious the government
has set a target for 2% of electricity to be generated by
renewable sources by 2010. Wind energy is the cleanest and
lowest cost renewable source of power.
How much electricity is generated by each turbine?
1058 houses consume the same amount of power as is generated
by each 1.75MW turbine. With a cluster of turbines, large
sections of the community can have their electricity generated
by clean renewable energy.
Are they noisy?
No. Modern turbines are quiet. Even if you were to stand amongst
the turbines, a normal conversation could be conducted.
What are the benefits to the local community?
There is significant investment into the local economy
and an opportunity to join a local green energy community
investment scheme.
Farmers have an opportunity to diversify, in what are
very uncertain times.
Environmental benefits for you, your children and their
children.
Will turbines affect birds and other wildlife?
Turbines help wildlife through the reduction of global climate
change. We consult with the relevant statutory consultees
and environmental groups to ensure the most suitable sites
are selected.
